What I learnedFor this assignment, we learned how to use cameras on the auto setting. We also learned about how to make our photos look good through the use of composition rules. I have already taken black and white photography, so I had a decent understanding of these rules already. Lastly, we learned how to upload and photoshop our photos. Rule of thirdsI placed my subject to the right and her camera is on the top line. PatternThe repeating 1's and 0's create an interesting pattern across the field. SymmetryThe same colors on each side and the railings split the image. TextureTwo contradicting textures are side by side: the smooth rocks and the rough wood chips. Depth of FieldThe plant is in focus, while the background is blurred out. LinesThere are lines going across the field and the carvings break them up slightly. FramingMy subject is framed by the door. The picture is pretty dark and a bit blurry though. PerspectiveThe viewer is looking up at the flower instead of down. SpaceThe tree takes up the whole space. Very little space is left unused. BalanceThe eye is drawn all over the picture. One side isn't heavier than the other. ColorThe contrasting colors, red and green, really stand out against one another.
